- As the chalet was built with local resources, and it’s the fruit of labour nourished by the entire family, friends and local artists what other places can support a women retreat better ?! Here, we would be able to tap on our own women resources : (intuition, compassion, love, dedication) in order to create and restore ourselves.
- My aim is to create experiences that would empower us, as women.
- Our role in today’s world is in a permanent, continuous change and we need to master the right tools in order to lead a fulfilling life. Your beauty and power reside in yourself and this retreat is meant to gently guide you how to unveil them, how to reach for the true self and maintain a self- loving, protective aura all the time. I am not planning offer formulas or held rigorous workshops, I would be next to you and be the gentle accompaniment of your journey.
- We would feast on local farm products and spend time gazing at the sky from the rooftop ( notice the beautiful green rooftop of the chalet )!
- We would hike the scenic hills and mountain paths to collect what nature has to offer: flowers, wild plants, twigs and pebbles and create our own mandalas and labyrinths.
- As an artist I enjoy spontaneity, but in the same time I recognize the need of a structure and I have a day by day planner that I am proposing it as a guide.
- I encourage each of you to give yourself permission to be as engaged in the activities and other offerings as much as you feel comfortable.

Popasul Verde is an eco- friendly chalet, in the hearth of Sangeorz -Bai and Rodna Mountains in picturesque Romania.
- The cosy retreat accommodates four people ( five, including myself ).There is a fully equipped kitchenette at the house where we can prepare our meals . We can buy fresh dairy from the farms nearby, as well as from the local market and supermarket. Romania is known for delicious, high quality fresh food and the pricing is amazingly great, especially when you have a native with you who not only speaks the language but knows how to negotiate.
- The rooms are decorated with traditional rustic furniture and there is a fireplace or terracotta tile stove in each . One bedroom has a double bed, another has a bunk bed and there is a sofa bed in the third. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is only one bathroom with the shower but the best of everything is the large terrace with a sofa and hammocks …..and the green roof that offers spectacular views of the area.
- Day 1.
- You would be greeted at Cluj Napoca airport and transferred to Popasul Verde , a car ride of 2 hours and 15 min.
- I will have drinks and snacks to keep us company till we get to have dinner.
- After arriving at Popasul Verde and freshening up we would either have dinner at a restaurant in Sangeorg- Bai or eat at the house depending of what time we would arrive .
- Dinner and wine is included.
- Day 2.
- Breakfast time , there would be enough goodies to start our new day. After our power breakfast get together we can go food shopping
- I will offer some historical and geographical facts about Romania, in particular about the area where we will spend a marvelous week.
- A cool fact to know is that the Sangeorz Bai mineral water is said to rival the springs of Vicy, France and Karloy Vary, Czech Republic. Due to this quality, the mineral water is in high demand for treating digestive tract diseases, hepato-billiary diseases, nutritional and metabolic diseases and thematic diseases.
- Each of you will receive a Journal to keep your field notes, inspirations, sketches and memories. We will spend the day absorbing the energy of our new home. We will talk about the power of energy, how to recognize the negative energy and how to clear spaces and protect ourselves.
- Day 3.
- Breakfast - I would love to see how everybody prepares their meal and learn culinary secrets.
- I am working to have a yoga instructor who can guide us through a gentle routine.
- We will explore the area by foot and take photos that we will later edit and organize to preserve our memories. We may pack lunch so we can enjoy the whole outdoor experience, at our leisure.
- Day 4.

- Visit the village Dosul Garciului and the Museum of Comparative Art .
The Museum of Comparative Art has as the mission the preservation of the Romanian spirit and traditions through art. Utilitarian works from the past co-exist in harmony with contemporary works.
Dosul Garciului is a small village where the Romanian artist Maxim Dumitras started an art colony. It is a great example of a refuge from the city where artists can create in the middle of nature. If the artist will be in the area we will talk about art and the importance of connecting with nature while we create.
- Day 5.
- Breakfast
- Yoga/Meditation
- Gentle hike to reconnect with nature
- Visit a local farm
- Create vision boards, mandalas and intuitive artwork.
- We will explore the concept of playing with natural elements/materials that we collected during the prior days.
- Day 6.
- Breakfast
- Yoga/Meditation
- Trip to Barsana Monastery
- Day 7.
- This is a day of choice when we can unwind, restore and take a personal day trip or continue and complete our art projects.
- In the evening we will have a closing gathering to conclude the week and talk about the importance of allowing ourselves to be present in the moment and listen to our own callings. We will explore the concept of self love, the importance of nourishing our core and talk about the different ways to reach our goals in order to be more happy with ourselves and more helpful and compassionate towards each other .
- We will give Thanks and embrace the chance we had to be able to prioritize and choose to attend this inspiring retreat .
- We will explore what we feel that we accomplished by being here and share the importance of allowing ourselves to be creative .
- Day 8.
- Transfer to the the airport .
- Depending on the time of your flight we may explore the beautiful city of Cluj before we say our goodbyes !
What is included in the cost of the Retreat
- Accommodation / Lodging at Popasul Verde for seven nights.
- Transportation to and from the airport ( Cluj Napoca airport ). All the transportation by car for the day trips as well for the rides to the supermarket and around the area.
- All the activities/workshops : art, photography, energy work, and yoga classes if there will be an instructor on the site.
- All the necessary materials and supplies for the art activities.
- Visit to the Museum of Comparative Art and the talk with the artist.
- Snacks, dinner and wine for the first day .
- The chance to experience the beauty of the area with a local, who had the chance to spend her childhood and early adult years in beautiful Romania and also recognizes the mentality and needs of an American tourist. See more in my bio.
What is not included in the cost of the Retreat
- Airfare to Romania / Cluj Napoca airport.
- Medical, and travel insurance
- Meals ( with the exception of the first day snacks and dinner).
- Personal expenses like souvenirs shopping, or extra trips in the area
The fee for the 8 full days of the Romanian experience is:
* Single room $ 2,200 per person
* Twin room ( bunk beds ) $ 1,800 per person
50% Deposit, (Nonrefundable) due by July 1, 2018
50 % Final balance due August 20, 2018
Everybody who sign up and participate in the retreat will receive a print of my Popasul Verde watercolor.

I am Delona,
a native of Romania who has lived and worked in the USA for the last 27 years.
I was trained as a fine artist, interior designer and teacher. I studied art and interior decoration at the Art school in Brasov, with a MS in Education from The University of Bucharest .
